Job Description

Join our leading team in electrical power system maintenance, repair, testing & training. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced P&C expert to work at our customer's plants throughout the Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; certificate from technical school or utility training program a plus.
  • Must have a minimum of two years related experience in the relay protection and control systems, installation, testing and trouble-shooting; an equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
  • Must be proficient at reading and red lining prints, troubleshooting control circuits, and writing & modifying control circuits.
  • Demonstrated thorough proficiency regarding protective relay and substation communication,and general electrical/electronic theory and computer hardware and software skills.
  • Experienced with electromechanical, solid state & microprocessor relays, including most of the following:
    • Experience with test sets and software: Doble 6150, Protest, RTS, Megger MPRT & EZ CT 2000.
    • Experience with relays: Schweitzer SEL 421, 311A, 311B, 311C, & 311L, ABB DPU 2000R, HU, CA16, KD & LCBII, GE PVD, BDD, STD, CEY, L90, D60, B90, Areva, Multilin
  • Must be able to work safely with electricity.
  • TWIC card required

Job Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Perform installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of protective relaying equipment and relaying schemes.
  • Work with electrical engineers to identify, troubleshoot and resolve relaying issues.
  • Perform function testing of substation control circuits on relay panel and transformers.
  • Manage related projects onsite throughout the duration and effectively interface and own the relationship with customers and their vendors.
  • Test and perform other electrical maintenance activity within the plant environment as directed.
