Job Description

Our client is seeking a Database Administrator for an exciting contract to hire opportunity. The Database Administrator manages the day-to-day administration and integration of all database and reporting systems. This individual is responsible for Integration, programming, debugging, tuning, and developing all MS SQL and MySQL, This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to I.T. department up time and performance standards

  • Install, maintain, upgrade and configure MS SQL and MySQL
  • Manage and develop Microsoft SQL reporting system
  • Manage and develop MS SQL and MySQL queries, procedures, functions, and indexing
  • Manage all ETL to include SSIS, Linux bash scripts, and other data migration operations.
  • Manage ASP Runner sites
  • Create, or support creation of reports in response to business user needs for key users, managers and partners.
  • Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Monitor, optimize and allocate physical data storage for database systems.
  • Plan and coordinate Report Services, ASP Runner and SQL updates between systems.
  • Establish appropriate end-user database access control levels.
  • Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.


  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science
  • 3+ years of overall Database Administration experience
  • Experienced in SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2010, 2012 DTS/SSID and ETL
  • Experience with Procedures, Functions, and Indexing
  • Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting SQL database servers.
  • Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience.
  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong technical documentation skills.
