Job Description

Job Summary: Primary daily responsibilities include managing hardware and software inventory. Follow specific processes and guidelines to ensure that tasks are completed consistently and efficiently. Has excellent technical writing and oral communication skills. Has excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with technical and non-technical customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creates reports, modify, add, and maintains hardware and software inventory.
  • Prepares equipment for Technician I, Technician II, and IT Engineers daily work orders.
  • Performs stocking and organization of equipment and consumables for use by the department.
  • May provide telephone support for incoming calls to the IT Helpdesk call queue as needed.
  • Monitor ticket queue for user inquiries then respond in a timely manner with accuracy and proficiency per IT Dept. SLA’s
  • Log all tasks and user requests in IT ticketing system; document all actions to include troubleshooting steps; communications and resolution
  • Be prepared to greet walk-in users with courtesy and professionalism to address any/all IT needs.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge and troubleshooting skills for the following:
    • PC Hardware & Peripherals
    • Mobile devices
  • Understand and be willing to use available resources (i.e., knowledge bases articles, web documents and co-workers) to troubleshoot more complicated issues
  • Understand timely escalation to next level support as situations dictate
  • Use technical writing skills to document any/all new procedures and update knowledge base articles as necessary.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives as directed by the IT leadership
  • Must maintain a current working knowledge of IT trends and technology
  • Perform data entry tasks in completing support operations to include asset tracking.
  • Support end users over the phone by leveraging analytical and logical flow troubleshooting to identify and resolve or escalate their issues.
  • Primary responsibilities require long periods of sitting and communication over the phone with users and team members.
  • Ability to frequently travel inside and outside of the Colorado Springs area.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

EducationAssociate in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Work Experience: Minimum 1 year in computer technology, implementation and design required.

Computer Skills: Advanced – ability to access the intra/internet to manage timecard, review policies and procedures, and read company communications; use word processing programs; use e-mail to communicate with co-workers, leadership, and other departments; produce very large, complex formal documents that require a table of contents, footnotes, endnotes, bookmarks, and other special elements. use and create a wide range of graphic effects and has full mastery of Macro commands; automate some operations, manage Macro commands, and create MS Excel applications; customize templates and the PowerPoint environment, and to make a presentation interactive by using hyperlinks and action buttons

Certificates and Licenses:

MCP, MCSE, CCNA, CompTIA or any other IT industry standard certifications are desired but optional.
