We are seeking a Workday HCM Project Manager to support a Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) and Payroll implementation for a global organization. This is a remote, part-time consulting opportunity, averaging 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling during standard business hours.
This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with prior experience managing full-cycle Workday HCM implementations, particularly within international or complex organizational environments. Compensation is targeted at $80–$90/hr. depending on experience and qualifications.
Position Summary:
The Workday HCM Project Manager will play a critical role in coordinating, tracking, and ensuring the successful delivery of the Workday HCM and Payroll implementation. The PM will collaborate with both internal stakeholders and external implementation partners to ensure the project is delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.

The Workday HCM Project Manager will play a critical role in coordinating, tracking, and ensuring the successful delivery of the Workday HCM and Payroll implementation. The PM will collaborate with both internal stakeholders and external implementation partners to ensure the project is delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-develop and manage a detailed project plan in partnership with the Workday implementation partner.
- Coordinate deliverables, testing, timelines, and budgets with internal project teams and external vendors.
- Lead or co-lead weekly project status meetings with key stakeholders.
- Provide regular project updates to executive sponsors via meetings, email, and presentations.
- Ensure timely approvals on key deliverables and decisions.
- Identify and escalate risks or issues that could impact the project timeline or quality.
- Support configuration, testing, training, and other activities as needed to ensure successful implementation.
- Track assigned training for internal team members and monitor completion.
- Provide expert guidance based on previous HCM implementation experience.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience managing full-cycle Workday HCM implementations, ideally in a global or multi-entity environment; payroll implementation experience is a plus.
- Excellent project management, coordination, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication abilities—both verbal and written—with a focus on collaboration and relationship building.
- Proactive problem solver with the ability to stay composed under pressure.
- Comfortable working independently and within a team-oriented, remote-first culture.
