Job Description



Our client is seeking a Web Designer for an exciting contract to hire opportunity. The Web Designer designs, implements, tests, and maintains custom websites. This includes aspects of design to include HTML5/CSS3, WordPress theme design, SEO attributes and considerations, and UX/UIX design. This position has frequent contact with end-users and Managers from all internal Departments; also may have contact with third-party software, network and hardware vendors, resellers, or distributors.

DUTIES:

  • Defines site objectives by analyzing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality.
  • Designs and develops user interfaces to Internet/intranet applications by setting expectations and features priorities throughout development life cycle; determining design methodologies and tool sets; completing programming using languages and software products; designing and conducting tests.
  • Understands and implements SEO best practices with respect to web site design, speed, content, and markup code.
  • Recommends system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives.
  • Updates job knowledge by researching new internet/intranet technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Supports and develops web application developers by providing advice, coaching and educational opportunities.



REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2+ years of experience designing and implementing web sites.
  • Strong HTML/CSS coding and standards.
  • 4-year degree in computer related field preferred.
  • Must have online portfolio of work
  • Strong listening skills with ability to empathize, focusing on customer service; exceptional oral and written communication skills with all levels of customer, peers and managers via documentation, telephone and email.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, management and partners.
