Job Description


Working with a local Hartford organization in their search to add 2 new Payment Policy Analysts to their teams. These are permanent/direct hire positions with a base salary, benefits, and the usual full time offerings.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • To provide a high level of proficiency in Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement (payment laws, regulations, policies, methodologies, and rates/algorithms), with particular subject matter expertise in one or more relevant Medicare/Medicaid payment methodologies, e.g., for acute inpatient services, physician services, hospital outpatient services, home health… etc.
  • Provide project management leadership in designing and delivering Medicare/Medicaid Reimbursement Research projects
  • Mentor and assist research analysts with direction and interpretation of Medicare/Medicaid payment laws, regulations, policies, methodologies, and rates/algorithms
  • Interpret and deliver business requirements covering reimbursement updates and payment policy changes and enhancement features for translation into software design specifications.
  • Coordinate with developers, QA, and client service team members to ensure that business requirements are implemented accurately and timely.
  • Develop test claims for UAT and QA
  • Develop and maintain a high level of proficiency in the Company's products (software, data) and services (advisory, analytic, training/education), including commercial contracting features as related to the specific area(s) assigned
  • Work towards becoming SME in assigned Provider Payment Systems like APC, DRG, RBRVS


Experience they're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree or above
  • 5-10 years professional experience in healthcare, and strong familiarity with health care reimbursement systems and methodologies
  • Recognized Prior Experience in a specific CMS/Medicare or Medicaid or commercial reimbursement arena
  • Proven effectiveness in collaborating with cross-functional teams to completion of projects
  • MS Office
  • Using web based and other research tools/sources
