Network Manager
Naperville

SNI Technology has partnered with a client in the Naperville area to fill a Network Manager position on a full time basis. The Network Manager will have both operational and hands on responsibilities on a daily basis. You will be developing a highly effective team of employees and is responsible for ensuring that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external users. You will also maintain Technology strategies by managing staff; researching and implementing technological strategic solutions, including but not limited to, planning and coordinating the design, installation, and connectivity of computer and network systems to ensure the stable operation of the organization's IT assets while adhering to security policies and backup integrity.

Responsibilities:


Leadership and Coaching

  • Develop each employee to their highest potential by identifying their areas for improvement and appropriately coaching, training or correcting the employees' performance.
  • Meet with each employee monthly to review previous month's performance, set goals for upcoming month's performance and develop plans to improve employee's performance.
  • Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, training and evaluating.



Strategy and Planning

  • Define, update, and implement Business Technologies projects, activities, and services
  • Ensure the appropriate tools, software, equipment, and telecommunications devices are implemented to meet standards
  • Select, manage, and control 3rd party vendors and consultants.



Network Management

  • Facilitate communication between staff, management, vendors, and technology resources.
  • Oversee the computer operations of the information systems, including local area and wide-area networks.
  • Responsible for management of multiple information and communication systems and projects, including voice, data, imaging, and system automation.
  • Design, evaluate, and implement systems that support staff in the productive use of computer hardware and software.



Network Administration

  • Maintain network security and ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Install, administer, and maintain servers, routers, switches, firewalls, UPSs, security updates, patches and all other hardware and software used
  • Create and maintain documentation of network systems, service records, operational procedures, network topology, and hardware inventory.
  • Manage and ensure effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus solutions, Virtual Private Networks, and intrusion detection systems.



?Network Support

  • Primary role in external security incidents - phishing, vishing, cloned websites, etc.
  • Second level help-desk contact - research and resolve escalated processing errors, software, hardware, and user issues.
  • Use database help desk management system software (Web Help Desk) and tools to collect agreed performance statistics and to ensure that appropriate action is taken to investigate and resolve incidents in systems and service.



Security and Disaster Preparedness:

  • Oversee and assess system security including information systems, communication lines, and equipment.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
  • Conduct testing and development of disaster recovery plans to detect faults, minimize malfunctions and backup systems as it relates to network functionality.



Qualifications:

  • Must be a self-directed individual with a high degree of analytic ability, and be flexible in adapting to needs of a growing organization.
  • Have an Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in the area of networks and network administration.
  • Knowledge of Windows 7/8 and Windows Server 2008/2012 operating systems as well as Microsoft Office Suite and administration of Microsoft Active Directory networks are required.
  • ShoreTel VoIP phone system management, VMware and Citrix experience, and SAN Management are desirable.
  • Previous financial institution experience preferred.
