Job Description

SNI Companies' client is immediately seeking to hire a Mortgage Underwriting Coordinator on a full-time, permanent basis. This position will initially be located in Westminster, CO (i.e. Federal and 120th ave.), but will eventually be moved into a new location in Broomfield, CO (i.e. Off Hwy 36 @ Interlocken).

Underwrites residential mortgage loans in accordance with internal guidelines ensuring compliance with company and investor standards. Has current in-depth experience and complete knowledge of Fannie Mae lending guidelines and understands how those relate to internal guidelines. Able to clearly communicate guidelines to customers, loan processors, and sales associates. Able to make timely, accurate decisions on all transactions. Has knowledge of personal and business financial analysis and tax return and balance sheet analysis.


  • Underwriting of conventional loans within established SLA requirements while maintaining file quality.
  • Ability to properly interpret DU, and communicate and document their findings.
  • Responsible for setting and clearing loan conditions on files according to investor guidelines and within established processes and procedures.
  • Must be able to underwrite a minimum of 3 new files per day
  • Assumes responsibility for review appraisals and ensuring that determined values are well documented
  • Responsible for related duties as required or assigned


  • Minimum of high school diploma
  • Advanced Underwriter certification

Required Knowledge:

  • Encompass experience preferred
  • Knowledge of FHA, VA and USDA loans

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 3 years working in the mortgage industry as processor, closer or underwriter, doing Conventional purchase and refinance transactions in a fast paced mortgage production environment
  • In depth knowledge of mortgage regulations and Fannie Mae mortgage guidelines
