Job Description

Our client is seeking a Mid-Level Network Administrator for an exciting contract to hire scenario. The Network Administrator will ensure the secure and stable operation of the in-house wired, wireless, and unified communications networks. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, securing, maintaining, supporting, testing, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. Ensure appropriate network security services are in place and make recommendations to the Network Manager concerning network security practices. May provide basic network maintenance oversight for IT Support Representatives as part of knowledge sharing and work load balancing. Maintain accurate and complete documentation on network, unified communications, failover, and associated systems configurations. Provide reports as requested on associated network statistics and platform testing.

  • Monitor and ensure effective failover networks to include but not limited to failover circuits for site to site communications, failover SIP circuits, and failover ELA circuits
  • Administer and support the unified communications systems and escalate issues to support vendors as appropriate. Support add-on systems to the unified communications system to include, but not limited to, paging systems and fax server systems.
  • Provide escalation support to the IT Support Rep's and Systems Administrator for network related issues. Mentor and develop junior network administrators as appropriate.
  • Oversee all aspects of the networks and internet connectivity throughout the organization.
  • Design, administer, and support the Cisco UC platform.
  • Administer and support add-on systems to the Cisco UC platform such as fax servers and paging systems.
  • Provide escalation support for tier 3 issues involving the networks, fax server, and/or paging systems.
  • Provide reports on network statistics and status.
  • Effectively and professionally communicates with internal and external clients.


  • 6+ years of experience with LAN/WAN network systems
  • Must have previous Cisco and Meraki experience
  • BS in IT or equivalent experience.
  • Strong working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including Cisco routers/firewalls, TCP/IP, VoIP, and wireless networking technologies.
  • Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and judgments in keeping with level of position.
  • Strong working knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Systems and associated infrastructure.
