Job Description

Our client is seeking a Media Asset Manager for an exciting contract to hire scenario. The Media Asset Manager will orchestrate the creation, use, storage, and sharing of digital assets within the organization. This is a highly collaborative role within the organization. This individual would be responsible for establishing and enforcing file hygiene and file retention policies while keeping an eye on content creation across the ministry. This position will require a high-level understanding of internal processes as it relates to media creation and usage. The Media Asset Manager will be responsible for overseeing departmental SOPs and SLAs as it relates to file storage and sharing.


  • Assist in the creation, updating, and enforcement of naming standards, folder hierarchy rules, metadata usage, and general file hygiene
  • Work with teams across the ministry to bring existing assets into compliance to ministry standards
  • Create automated methods to enforce file retention SLAs and SOPs
  • Proactively discover how departments are using media assets and where they are being stored
  • Assist in educating new employees and existing staff on organization standards
  • Understanding and recommending the optimizing of system operations and resource utilization
  • Continually researching and identifying new tools and systems to enhance operational workflows and capabilities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to understand complex hardware and software systems and workflows
  • Possess an understanding of the configuration of client / server architecture
  • Ability to execute system capacity analysis and planning
  • Must be able to operate Windows-based computer and be familiar with Mac OS
  • Knowledge in media formats and coding related to video and audio broadcast and sharing (ProRes, UHD, H.264, etc)
  • Ability to maintain and organize broadcast program libraries in accordance with organizaion and industry standards
  • Working knowledge of Amazon Web Services S3 and Glacier storage


  • 3+ years prior experience with digital and asset file management within a server environment
  • Knowledge in Mac and PC Windows environments
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite is required
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of programming or scripting languages is desirable
  • Some Project Management experience is desirable
  • Amazon Web Services knowledge a plus

Familiarity with Nextcloud file hosting service desirable
