Hardware Installation Engineer (Full-time/Direct Hire Opportunity)
Location: Deerfield Beach, FL (Onsite Only)
Compensation: $110,000-$130,000 annually (flexible based on experience)
About the Role
SNI Technology is seeking a highly skilled Hardware Installation Engineer to join our client’s team onsite in Deerfield Beach, FL. This is a hands-on lab role that requires precision, attention to detail, and proven experience across all aspects of racking, stacking, cabling, soldering, and hardware configuration. The ability to perform soldering to J-STD-001 standards is critical for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Racking & Installation: Mount, install, and secure servers, switches, routers, radios, and other rack-mounted components in 19” EIA racks.
- Power Distribution: Install and connect PDUs, circuit breakers, and UPS systems.
- Structured Cabling: Route, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a cables per TIA/EIA standards.
- Fiber Optics: Install, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cables (single-mode & multi-mode) using OTDR and light meters.
- Cable Management: Organize, label, and neatly route data, ethernet, fiber optic, COAX, RF, and power cables.
- Hardware Configuration: Connect and verify data, RF, and power connections; perform initial device light-off and configuration.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, cabling, and connectivity issues.
- Technical Execution: Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical instructions; follow company procedures and directives.
- Quality & Maintenance: Test finished products for defects, maintain tools and equipment, track inventory, and keep a clean workspace.
- Cable/Fiber Routing: Ensure all cabling and fiber installations are completed to the highest standards for long-term maintainability.
- Soldering certification (J-STD-001 preferred) is required.
- Experience with MIL-STD-1310 standards.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with racking, stacking, cabling, and hardware installation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work onsite full-time in Deerfield Beach, FL
