Our client is seeking a Project Manager for an exciting direct hire opportunity. The Project Manager supports clients throughout the project and software lifecycle. The Project Manager must possess demonstrated experience leading and managing a sizable team of software and industry professionals. The Project Manager interfaces with clients on a daily basis, keeping them informed on the current project. The Project Manager must be highly organized, detail oriented and an effective communicator at all levels of the organization.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Manage system development projects spanning many areas within the Software Engineering organization.
  • Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities across multiple disciplines to ensure that project goals are accomplished on time, within budget and meets the business objectives.
  • Manage the development and tracking of project plans including deliverables budget, milestones, resources, schedule, dependencies and operational definitions.
  • Manage the scope of the project and responsible for project risk management.
  • Facilitate the capturing of all project issues and ensure their resolution and/or escalation in a time-appropriate manner.
  • Facilitate project closure activities, including the use of a post-mortem.
  • Responsible for managing resource allocations on an ongoing basis and collaborating with the management team and the resource planning committee to staff resource needs.
  • Troubleshoot any possible problems or issues related to scheduling or resource conflicts.
  • Aid or lead the negotiation of project deliverables and budgets with clients on both a project and change management level.
  • Lead and facilitate timely project release status/issues meetings both internally and externally.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for feedback on project release progress and other release-related information.
  • Ensure that all project release milestones and deliverables are examined and meet quality and acceptance requirements.
  • Maintain project tracking system and ensure project deliverables are consistent with the expected timeline.
  • Actively manage the customer's expectations and balance their needs with business strategies.
  • Take initiative to broaden and improve skills by participating in educational programs, seminars, etc.
  • Support the Account Executive in cultivating revenue-generating opportunities with existing clients.
  • Provide support to management staff and other Project Managers by demonstrating leadership that is in unison with department initiatives and project goals, objectives and scope.
  • Participate in the planning, development, coordination and presentation of training to broaden and improve the knowledge of the staff when applicable.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by Management.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management or IT Project Management
  • 4+ years of overall Project Management experience.
  • Financial services industry background is a plus.
  • Project Management Certification a plus (PMP, CAPM, aCPM3, etc.).
  • Communication skills - a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Interpersonal skills - a demonstrated ability to aid in the negotiation of priorities and resolve conflicts among all project participants.
  • Leadership ability - a demonstrated ability to be a strong leader and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Organization skills - a proven ability to manage multiple projects. Ability to work in a fast paced, highly productive and rapidly changing environment.
  • Software Development Life Cycle Skills - a thorough understanding of the Software
  • Development Lifecycle and exposure to differing development methodologies.
  • Analytical Skills- a demonstrated ability of effective decision-making and problem solving skills. An attention to detail and accuracy are required.
  • Project Management Skills- a knowledge of the PMI's Project Management Body of
  • Knowledge (PMBOK). Proficient in project management tools such as MS Project.
  • Technical Skills- an expert in the use of MS Office Tools.
