Job Description

The Manager, IT engineering is a hands-on position responsible for a mission critical service requiring stability, reliability and performance optimization. The Manager of IT Engineering will provide leadership in the design, implementation, operation, optimization, maintenance, and troubleshooting of secure LAN/WAN, Wireless, Internet Portals, VPN, Data Center networks and server system administration. Also develops strategic and operational plans leading to the introduction and deployment of network, servers and data center infrastructure technology. The Manager of IT engineering will provide technical leadership and guidance to network/server services staff (Architects/Engineers/Administrators). The Manager of IT Engineer success criteria include technical leadership, advanced networking and data security system expertise as well as serving as an escalation resource for technical activities.


  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

Type of experience:

  • IT management experience in a Hosting, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO)/Managed Service Provider organizations responsible for IT customer services.
  • Management experience /knowledge of: LAN/WAN/MAN, Server and Network Management, Data Center Technologies, Capacity & Service Continuity Management, Virtualization, Data Management, Risk Management, Project management.
  • Server and Network management
  • ITIL and PMP best practices
  • Experience communicating with and supporting IT end users


  • Provide daily leadership the network and server teams, including supervision of all personnel, managing task assignments, and scheduling resources.
  • Ensure IT infrastructure services & operations are delivered consistently and to service level agreements.
  • Supervise network and system administrator operations staff including hiring, training, evaluating and disciplining.
  • Establish and maintain standards for configurations and operating system software as they apply to all components of the data networks.
  • Plan, design, engineer, install, and troubleshoot network routers, switches, wireless equipment, and network and servers security technology (e.g. firewalls, threat management, IDPS, Syslog, security incident, event management systems, server system administration etc.).
  • Maintain, upgrade, optimize, and troubleshoot existing infrastructure equipment and configurations.
  • Coordinate and execute upon approved adjustments and changes that increase performance and availability.
  • Provide network design, definition and coordination of standards, project management, and technology research.


  • 3+ years in management (Team of 10+); 7+ years in IT
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills, ability to partner and work with various internal and external teams. Strong understanding of technical troubleshooting methodology.
  • Expert knowledge of practical application of network technology.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, guidelines or regulations as they relate to IT.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to achieve efficiencies through workflow improvements and automation.
  • Knowledge of Cisco, Palo Alto, F5 Networks, and Dell product catalogs.
  • Knowledge of Cisco LAN/ WAN, ACI,Security configurations (DUO, Prime)
  • Knowledge of protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, RIP).
  • Knowledge of UCS blades, SAN, VMWARE, Windows AD Enterprise, Web Applications technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of building and installing data infrastructures, wireless systems, network security infrastructure and controls.
  • Knowledge of windows server administration in windows '12/16/19 including patches and backup protection.
  • Strong knowledge of physical layer (Cat5/6/6e, coax, fiber etc.).
  • Knowledge of network services (e.g. DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory).
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
