SNI Technology's client is immediately seeking to hire a talented, Business Project Manager on a full-time, direct-hire basis. This position is located at the Denver, CO headquarters.

Top Must-Have Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Current, verifiable certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) from a recognized certifying body (e.g. ASQ, IASSC).
  • Three-to-five (3-5) years of experience managing process improvement and other types of projects within a mid-to-large size organization.
  • Basic knowledge of information technology and the potential for IT-driven solutions when appropriate, and the experience to know when such solutions may not be appropriate.

POSITION PURPOSE
The role of the Business Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to agreed-upon deadlines and within budget using established methodologies. This includes assisting sponsors with discovery, coordinating the efforts of project team members and third party contractors, managing the change process, and creating a sense of shared purpose through the life of the project.

The Business Project Manager is also expected to assist the enterprise in identifying key projects and initiatives that can reduce costs, improve service delivery, enhance product development, and/or drive customer satisfaction. This includes developing a knowledge of operations and business data, and then synthesizing this knowledge with past experience to create opportunities.

The Business Project Manager must be seen as a trusted adviser to the organization on matters of business process efficiency and effectiveness.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Using established methodologies (e.g. Lean Six Sigma), and acting with a sense of urgency, drives approved projects to successful completion. Projects may range in size from small "Just Do It" efforts to full DMAIC or other process improvement lifecycle.
  • In collaboration with project sponsor, team, and stakeholders; define project scope, goals, timelines and deliverables. This will include developing detailed project, change management, and communication plans. Must proactively anticipate risks, devise mitigation and contingency plans, and manage changes in project scope, budget, or schedule.
  • Monitor and report on status of existing projects on a regular basis to stakeholders and leadership using visual management tools and engaging, informative written summaries, as appropriate.
  • Facilitate and document lessons learned from each improvement effort to contribute to organizational knowledge and to continuously improve the project lifecycle.
  • In consultation with management, and utilizing acquired knowledge of organizational strategy, business processes and available data (either within systems or manually acquired), identify improvement opportunities for the business to consider, and assist with prioritization when requested.
  • Establish excellent rapport with business process owners and leadership to build credibility as an agent of change, influencing the organization without direct line authority.
  • Partner with the IT Project Manager as necessary to ensure project success and to hand-off complex IT solutions when necessary into the IT Project Management lifecycle.
  • Upon request, act as a coach for new Six Sigma Green Belts within the business.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Current, verifiable certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) from a recognized certifying body (e.g. ASQ, IASSC).
  • Three-to-five (3-5) years of experience managing process improvement and other types of projects within a mid-to-large size organization.
  • Demonstrated systems-based thinking skills and business acumen, able to integrate strategic objectives with tactical actions to ensure alignment, while also maintaining a sense of urgency for self and project teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills (oral and written) across all levels of the organization; able to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully and elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources.
  • Solid facilitation, change management, and daily management skills to ensure successful project design and execution.
  • Able to gain a clear understanding of the internal and external customer's perspective, and providing full consideration of the customer experience, on all projects.
  • Well-developed critical thinking, creative problem solving, decision making, and analytical skills with the ability to lead teams to appropriate solutions based on data and proven methodologies.
  • Basic knowledge of information technology and the potential for IT-driven solutions when appropriate, and the experience to know when such solutions may not be appropriate.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and take action on it within scope of delegated authority.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with shared success and accountability.
  • Previous experience in financial services, insurance, or other transactional industry is desirable.
