Seeking Energy Resource Engineer in Quincy, MA - Relocation Offered!

We are seeking an engineer to join a team that is responsible for defining the roadmap and implementation plan for transition to a Distribution System Operator at one of our client sites. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of the distribution company and make impactful decisions for the next era of the utility industry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and perform gap analysis of software and engineering capabilities
  • Collaborate with internal key stakeholders to evaluate as-is and to-be state of each capability
  • Evaluate and design innovative pilot programs for technology demonstrations
  • Design and strategize roadmap for company to implement DSO of the future
  • Contribute to a program of initiatives designed, planned, resourced and scheduled in a timely and cost-effective manner for implementation in-line with vision, emerging standards and trends, and policies.
  • Build and nurture relationships with industry peers and other external industry influencers to keep abreast of technical innovations and their potential benefits.
  • Develop and progress the implementation of methods for the day-to-day business to take advantage of the operational benefits of new energy resources and demand response systems.

Education and Experience

  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with distribution planning processes, procedures, applications
  • Knowledge and experience with DER interconnection process
  • Practices and demonstrates the ability to create new concepts or solutions that are not always obvious to others.
  • Domain / Industry Knowledge surrounding control room software platforms is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related degree
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience in the utility industry (internship or research will be considered)
  • Experience with Distributed Energy Resources and related technology solutions
  • Experience with vetting technology solutions for distribution systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication and facilitation skills
