Job Description

Our client is seeking a DSP Engineer for an exciting contract to hire scenario. The DSP Engineer provides highly technical expertise and guidance in designing, programming, integrating/implementing and analyzing digital signal processing (DSP) systems. They work with a scrum team to build core DSP tools and infrastructure on a variety of both hardware and software-based platforms. They invest in a growing team of DSP engineers by providing leadership, mentorship, direction and best practices to produce high quality deliverables in an efficient and timely manner.


  • Research, design, develop, and evaluate digital signal processing systems, including requirements definition, algorithm development, and system modeling/simulation
  • Process digital signals using SDR, GPU, & FPGA technologies
  • Perform product testing and create models and prototypes
  • Engage in every phase of the software development process with the Scrum Teams to ensure design quality and software that adheres to the standards and requirements.
  • Provide mentorship/guidance to newer DSP engineers
  • Collaborate with Product Scrum Teams to:
  • Understand functional requirements, story map, refine and estimate the level of effort to complete working software that meets all requirements.
  • Deliver working software throughout sprints, demos, releases and the full software development life cycle.
  • Maintain quality standards of company developed software.
  • Participate in all Scrum ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, retrospectives and daily stand ups.


  • MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • 5+ years of overall DSP experience
  • 5+ years of demonstrated professional development experience in C++, Linux, and Python
  • Ability to create DSP algorithms using programs such as Python, GNURadio, MATLAB, SIMULINK, Vivado Studio, System Generator, and CUDA
  • Experience with FPGA programming
  • Experience with Software Defined Radio (SDR) and complex signals
  • Experience with developer tools such as GIT, Visual Studio IDE, or similar tool
  • Experience working in agile development and scrum teams
  • Experience with Docker, Node.js, ZMQ, and web-frameworks
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and the desire to collaborate and solution with the development team.


  • Understanding of SATCOM principles/systems/equipment
  • Experience with spectrum/network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, and other testing equipment
  • Familiarity with machine learning/data science concepts and tools
  • Experience working in an agile environment and as part of a scrum team.
