This position will be required to conduct onsite IA analysis and mitigation of DoD/DoN systems. This position will be expected to cover technical information security aspects including, but not limited to, identifying risks, providing mitigation plan of action, configuration of devices in accordance with STIG settings, analysis of system design, assist with certification and accreditation issues that may be preventing the system from receiving ATO, and develop custom mitigation solutions for enterprise vulnerabilities.
Additional responsibilities include:

  • Provide onsite and remote assessment, mitigation and remediation support.
  • Utilize IA assessment tools including ACAS, DISA STIGs, SCAP Benchmarks, SRR Scripts and Policy Auditor to identify the vulnerabilities within customer systems.
  • Evaluate, and analyze risks identified in FISMA POAM and assist the program in mitigating the vulnerabilities in the efforts to reduce the risk.
  • Ensuring systems are functional after mitigation/remediation has been completed.


  • BA/BS in Information Systems Management, Computer Science or related discipline plus 8 years of experience. In lieu of formal education, at least 16 years of related experience. Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.
  • Clearance: Secret clearance
  • Certifications: Security + with (CE) within first six months of employment.
  • ACAS scanning experience, building asset groups, creating audits, schedule scans and generating reports.
  • Experience with running SCAP benchmarks and SRR scripts released by DISA.
  • WSUS management and troubleshooting WSUS Server and clients.
  • System troubleshooting and configuration management of Windows 7/10/2008/2012 OS as it relates to security posture of the system.
  • Configuration security of network devices, switches, firewalls and routers.
  • Knowledge of DISA STIGs/FDCC requirements.
  • Knowledge of defense-in-depth and other information security and assurance principles and associated supporting technologies.
  • A self leader, self thinker, needs little direction, ability to work in a dynamic team environment, proven communication skills and client customer support, and ability to travel with little notice.

  • Microsoft SQL
  • Basic scripting knowledge/experience: generating scripts to patch/audit systems
  • Performed successful security mitigation resulting from a security audit
