Our client is seeking a technically-oriented Business Development Director for a direct hire opportunity. The Business Development Director will lead the strategic business development initiatives for our product lines for satellite ground system / mission operation center (IC, DoD, Civil & commercial) applications. The qualified candidate will be known in the IC community and have a proven record in developing business in the government sectors for high technology products.


  • Establish strong, trusted customer relationships in IC, and DoD
  • Develop a deep understanding of company practices, products and technologies (frequent travel required)
  • Work closely with TNC lead to develop strategic plans for penetration of our products and technologies into Satellite Ground and other aerospace applications
  • Coordinate capabilities briefings, demonstrations, customer meetings, tradeshow attendance on behalf of multiple products and tailored solutions
  • Attend relevant industry conferences, trade shows, workshops, forums, etc. to form strategic business relationships for the above growth markets
  • Track and ensure follow-through on opportunities and coordinate opportunity reviews with customers
  • Advise TNC business segment of significant opportunities, collaborate with other business segments, and generate significant sales leads
  • Complete and negotiate strategic sales transactions for company offerings both directly to the government and through prime/sub relationships
  • Prepare and perform technical-oriented business development presentations demonstrating an ability to communicate comfortably with customer systems engineers and program managers
  • Leverage existing inroads to strategic customers to provide business opportunities
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by facilitating a common understanding of clients requirements and expectations
  • Proven track record of business development, including proposal development for complex systems and facilitating or giving product demonstrations


  • Experience in the IC or DoD Satellite and RF Communications markets, including RF, IP network and recording applications
  • Proven track record in developing new business for a technology or product-based
  • Extensive network of business contacts in one or more of the markets mentioned
  • 10+ years of experience in applying technology such as digital, networks, RF or signals
  • Relevant, current industry experience and strategic technical insight to assist in penetrating target markets
  • B.S. in Engineering or equivalent relevant technical background experience
  • Demonstrated experience in systems engineering and systems architecture
  • Existing Secret level U.S. Government Security Clearance
