Systems Administrator

SNI Technology Orlando, FL (Onsite) Contract to Hire



Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Systems Administrator to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting our Microsoft-based IT infrastructure. The Systems Administrator will ensure the smooth operation of servers, networks, and workstations while supporting a variety of Microsoft applications and technologies. This role requires strong troubleshooting abilities, a proactive approach to system management, and a deep understanding of Microsoft operating systems and related technologies.




Key Responsibilities:

  • System Administration:

  • Manage and maintain Microsoft Windows Server environments (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022).
  • Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Administer Windows-based file systems and storage management, including permissions, quotas, and backup systems.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, and other critical business applications.
  • Network and Security:

  • Monitor and manage network infrastructure and systems, ensuring security, reliability, and optimal performance.
  • Implement security protocols and perform regular system updates, patches, and backups to ensure data protection and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Collaborate with IT security teams to manage firewalls, VPNs, and other security tools.
  • Support and Troubleshooting:

  • Provide technical support for end users on Windows-based systems, including software, hardware, and networking issues.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues related to system performance, application errors, and connectivity.
  • Maintain an inventory of IT hardware and software and manage licensing compliance.
  • Automation and Scripting:

  • Develop and implement PowerShell scripts to automate routine administrative tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Set up monitoring and alerting systems to proactively manage IT environments and prevent downtime.
  • Collaboration and Documentation:

  • Work closely with other IT team members, vendors, and management to improve infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and implement system improvements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for systems, procedures, and configurations.
  • Backup and Recovery:

  • Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions for critical systems and data.
  • Regularly test and verify backup integrity, ensuring fast recovery in the event of system failure.


    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
    • 3+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator in a Microsoft-based environment.
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022) and associated technologies (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP).
    • Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, and SharePoint administration.
    • Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and tools (TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
    • Proficiency with PowerShell scripting and automation.
    • Knowledge of backup and recovery technologies and disaster recovery best practices.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills with a keen attention to detail.



    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or Azure certifications (MCSA, MCSE, Azure Administrator Associate, etc.).
    • Experience with virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V or VMware.
    • Familiarity with cloud services, especially Microsoft Azure.
    • Experience with IT security tools and practices (firewalls, anti-virus, and endpoint protection).
    • Knowledge of SQL Server and basic database administration.
