Student Success Coach (Case Manager)

SNI Technology’s client located in Greeley, CO is immediately seeking to hire a Student Success Coach for an exciting, 6-month contract opportunity. This full-time position is expected to be 40 hours per week onsite M-F, 8:00am-5:00pm MDT, paying $25.29 hourly during the contract duration of the assignment. The estimated duration for this assignment is June 16th through December 19th, 2025.

Student Success Coach (Case Manager)

The Student Success Coach I serves the central function of providing appreciative advising and coaching to students. This position provides academic advising, as well as resource referrals to students to make informed decisions related to their short and long-term educational trajectory.
This position serves as a success coach for students as they complete their program of study and transition to the workforce and/or further continued educational pursuits. Although this position provides academic advising and course suggestions, the primary focus of the position is provide success coaching to the advisee.

In the spirit of the appreciative advising pedagogy, the Student Success Coach I engages in student
development activities to aid the students in making proactive and effective decisions regarding their course and program choices. Each Student Success Coach I will maintain an assigned caseload of advisees from specified programs of study for which they will engage in regularly scheduled meetings, proactive interventions/follow-ups, and otherwise be available to for additional questions as the student’s primary point of contact within the division. Occasional travel may be required.

Position Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Case Management & Appreciative Academic Advising for Student Success (50% of the time:
  • Appreciatively advise and coach students dealing with complex academic situations by:
  • explaining the college’s academic policies and procedures,
  • aligning a student’s program of study at the college with their desired continued education pursuits and future career opportunities,
  • providing unofficial evaluation of transfer credits for course equivalences and possible application to college programs of study,
  • monitoring academic progress of students toward degree completion,
  • identifying current and potential needs or problem areas (e.g. study skills, tutoring), and referring students to appropriate campus resources for assistance.
  • Monitor graduating student progress, help facilitate a seamless transition for all advisees to the workforce or continued educational pursuits and coordinate any reverse transfer considerations in an effort to promote degree completion here at the college.
  • Assist students with academic suspension and financial aid (credit limit, satisfactory academic progress, etc.) appeals.
  • Teach students how to use the college’s systems and technology (such as Workday).
  • Educate and empower students to develop the ability to identify and articulate their strengths as well as areas for growth.
  • Assist students in goal setting and academic planning.
  • Engage with and meet with students via in person and virtual appointments, phone calls, texting, email, and occasional drop-in advising.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for advisees to other offices at the college.
  • Manage an assigned caseload of students on career and academic issues, identify educational options appropriate for each student and assist with the analysis of each option, including possible outcomes and their implications through consistent outreach efforts.
  • Create and maintain records and files for Student Success Coaches to use with students utilizing an integrated database system.
  • Check, various forms for accuracy, assist students in their completion, sign related forms, remove holds when appropriate, and document student interactions on appropriate platforms including Workday.
  • Educate and advise prospective students, parents, high school personnel and the community of academic programs on college admissions requirements, financial aid policies, residency requirements and College policies.
  • Assess the students’ stage of development and promote growth by assisting students in establishing realistic and attainable academic and career goals.
  • Utilize resources such as transfer guides, to assist students in course selection and career goals.
  • Engage in initial career planning process by explaining the connection between majors, interests/abilities and career goals; keep accurate log notes that reflect the discussion and essential information conveyed to students.
  • Advising Program Support (20% of the time):
  • Maintain and update existing academic advising resources (i.e. co-curricular maps, advising checklists, registration worksheets and template emails), and create new materials when needed.
  • Assist in the maintenance of an appreciative advising model that emphasizes the practical application of the program of study Curriculum maps and prioritizes co-curricular learning through the utilizations of available resources at the college.
  • Assist in planning and implementing Collegewide and campus retention and strategies.
  • Connect students to events/activities on the college campus.
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of academic program requirements and college processes, procedures, and policies; when appropriate, assist students navigate these systems.
  • Attend appreciative advising training and complete certification requirements therein as prescribed by the College.
  • Engage, create, and foster a culture of assessment and innovation at the department and College level
  • Supporting belonging by fostering an environment where all students feel a sense of belonging and are encouraged to contribute their perspectives and experiences to the campus community.
  • Enhancing cultural competency building and maintaining a deep understanding of diverse cultural backgrounds, identities, and experiences to provide informed and empathetic support to students from various demographics and backgrounds.
  • Campus Involvement & Leadership (15% of the time):
  • Work collaboratively with other departments, staff and faculty in administering admissions, advising and recruiting programs and projects.
  • Serve on committees within the campus and/or community as appropriate to support and promote the College
  • Connect and develop relationships with academic affairs, in particular the programs within the Student Success Coaches assigned Pathway portfolio.
  • Assist with student success programs or initiatives such as orientation of new students, graduation ceremonies, and special award/recognition events to support and promote student success.
  • Support & Encourage Students to Apply a Mindset of On-going Self-Improvement (10% of the time):
  • Facilitate student learning and development of problem-solving by identifying alternative options as they relate to their life and career goals.
  • Educate and empower students to develop the ability to identify and articulate their strengths as well as areas for growth.
  • Utilizing case management, Appreciative Advising and other student development techniques, encourage students to use a growth mindset and think about their future, and equip students with skills and resources to achieve their goals.
  • Other Duties as Assigned (5% of the time). Minimum Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree, plus two (2) years of professional experience in student affairs or a higher education field, or working experience in an educational setting, or working with people on career and academic goal setting, or working with people utilizing case management OR
    • Associates degree, plus four (4) years of professional experience in student affairs or a higher education field, or working experience in an educational setting, or working with people on career and academic goal setting, or working with people utilizing case management
    • Excellent written and verbal communication.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google suite and similar software, and computer-based student information systems.
    • Possess effective decision making and problem solving skills.
    • High emotional intelligence, strong active listening skills, and relationship building skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience providing students with tailored support in the form of academic advising, academic coaching, or mentoring.
    • Knowledge of college student services such as advising, career coaching, financial aid,
      admissions, registration, student life.
    • Skilled in effective decision-making and problem-solving, team-oriented collaboration, as well as possessing a high level of self-direction and initiative with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced setting.
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish
    Pay Rate
    The pay rate for this position is $25.29 per hour during the contractual period of the assignment.
