Java Web Application Developer

We are looking to fill a full-time Java Web Application Development position. The Web Application Developer will be involved in all facets of the development process, including requirements gathering, coding, database management, testing, and deployment utilizing their solid understanding of Spring, Spring Boot, or other Java-based MVC frameworks. This position is part of a small but fast growing IT group that creates and maintains custom intranet applications for internal use, as well as managing and maintaining multiple external marketing websites and e-commerce platforms.

Essential Job Functions
 

• Analyze, design, develop/modify/code/test/debug, and document new intranet application systems and/or enhancements to existing systems
• Document the detailed application specifications, translate technical requirements into programming application modules, and develop/enhance software application modules
• Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analytics, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline the proposed IT solution
• Perform architectural design and analysis to insure optimal performance of software and data manipulation while still meeting business requirements

Primary Responsibilities and Requirements

1. Back-End Development
   • Proficiency in Java (preferably Java 8 or higher)
   • Solid understanding of Spring, Spring Boot, or other Java-based MVC frameworks
   • Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL
2. Front-End Development
   • HTML and CSS fundamentals, including responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
   • Proficient in JavaScript and TypeScript
   • Experience with Angular
   • Strong grasp of REST APIs and integration best practices
3. Version Control & Collaboration
   • Hands-on experience with Git (Bitbucket/SourceTree or similar)
   • Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence for project management and documentation
   • Experience with Azure for deployment or cloud services (preferred)
4. Development Tools
   • Comfortable with IDEs such as Visual Studio, VSCode, and IntelliJ
   • Proficient using SQL Server Management Studio for database tasks
   • Experience using Postman for API testing
   • Familiarity with Teams (or other Office 365 collaboration tools)

Secondary / Nice-to-Have Skills

1. .NET/C# Development
   • Proficiency in ASP.NET, .NET Core, and .NET Framework
   • Solid understanding of MVC and Razor
2. Front-End Development
   • Experience with modern frameworks like Vue.js
3. SAP Ecosystem
   • Experience with SAP Commerce (SAP Hybris) and/or SAP S4 HANA
4. E-commerce & Payment Integrations
   • Knowledge of Paymetric, Klaviyo, Accertify, UPS, USPS, or WithPersona
   • Comfort working with various 3rd-party payment and shipping APIs
5. Additional Tools & Services
   • Familiarity with Office 365 for productivity
   • Experience using Windows 10/11 for development environments
