MS Purview Consultant

SNI Technology Chicago, IL (Onsite) Contractor

SNI Technology is recruiting for a senior, reliable, trustworthy and experienced MS Purview Consultant.  This is a fully remote, part-time, short term contract role, targeting around $65/hr.-$85/hr. or so (negotiable and based on background/experience).

Microsoft Purview DLP Subject Matter Expert (Independent Contractor)
Position Type: Contract
Duration: e.g., 4-8 weeks, project-based to start early January 2025. Possibility for extension or longer duration with around 20 hours per week to start.
Location: Remote



Overview:

We are seeking a Microsoft Purview Subject Matter Expert with a strong focus on Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions to support the operationalization of our data governance program. The successful candidate will collaborate with our team to implement and optimize Microsoft Purview's DLP capabilities, ensuring alignment with established data governance policies and processes.



Key Responsibilities:

  • DLP Policy Development and Implementation: Design, configure, and deploy DLP policies, sensitivity labels, and user notifications to reduce intentional or unintentional leakage of sensitive information.
  • Integration and Testing: Ensure smooth operation across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
  • Alerts and Feedback Loops: Establish and refine DLP alerts and user-facing policy tips to enhance adoption and minimize false positives.
  • Operationalization: Assist with pilot testing, incorporate end-user feedback, and ensure successful deployment and operationalization of the DLP solution.
  • Training and Knowledge Transfer: Assist in the development and delivery of training materials for internal teams to self-manage the solution post-implementation.



Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in Microsoft Purview, including DLP, sensitivity labeling, and integration with endpoint and mobile device management (MDM/MAM) solutions.
  • Strong experience with data governance frameworks, including policy creation and compliance processes.
  • Deep understanding of Microsoft 365, Azure, and modern data protection best practices.
  • Experience developing and deploying user training and adoption strategies for data governance tools.
  • Excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
