SNI Technology’s top client is seeking to hire a talented Sr Software Engineer for an exciting full-time, Contract to Hire opportunity! This is a onsite opportunity.
This position is not open to C2C or non-US permanent residents.
JOB DESCRIPTION
In this role, your key responsibilities will include administering, governing and executing all aspects of the software development lifecycle. Additionally, you will be designing, developing, testing, and maintaining globally deployed manufacturing test systems utilizing COTS hardware and software platforms or languages. Other key aspects include electromechanical hardware function expertise & troubleshooting, manufacturing data collection/analysis/storage and SQL database creation/management/maintenance. Finally, you will be required to function autonomously in a globally distributed team while demonstrating exceptional collaboration, interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.

Major Areas of Responsibility
- Develop world-class software solutions that automate product manufacturing, laboratory testing, data collection, storage and analysis in a time critical and customer focused automotive manufacturing environment.
- Develop enterprise solutions for high volume data collection, reporting, and management.
- Develop expertise in the electromechanical function and testing of our products.
- Lead design, documentation, and code reviews for both hardware and software development/maintenance tasks.
- Responsible for creating and documenting software architecture, requirements and specifications from the system level down.
- Responsible for planning and delivering timely software solutions in a hybrid development environment consisting of both waterfall and agile methodologies.
- Comply with cybersecurity standards, corporate governance, industry standards and internal best practices ensuring robust designs and implementation.
- Mentorship and training of lower-level engineers and/or interns
- Influence and provide operational feasibility feedback to the manufacturing teams.
- Utilize the latest source code control methodologies to maintain an organized and well documented code base.
- Consult on the concept, design and implementation of hardware solutions which meet testing requirements.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives in support of internal and customer focused requirements.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of .NET [VB.NET and C#] programming languages
- Advanced knowledge of relational databases [SQL Server]
- Advanced knowledge of electrical architecture as it relates to manufacturing test systems
- Advanced knowledge of electromechanical devices and data acquisition systems
- Advanced knowledge of microcontroller architecture and flashing
- Advanced understanding of SAE J1939 protocol
- Proficiency with source code control (Bitbucket, Git, SVN or equivalent)
- Proficiency with cybersecurity governance, methods, techniques and tools
- Ability to excel in a demanding (automotive preferred) production environment
- Proficiency in LabVIEW VI development and deployment is preferred
- Proficiency with the latest web development languages/tools is preferred
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, computer science, data science or related field
- 8+ years of experience in hardware/software design, development and database creation/management for manufacturing applications
- Fluency in Spanish is desirable
Physical Demands
- Ability to work several hours at a computer
- Ability to travel < 50% (domestic and international) as needed
