Job Description

SNI Technology’s client’s IT Department is hiring a System Administrator, Journey level, on the Field Team on a contract to hire (or direct hire) basis. This particular role specializes in fleet management systems, including those for Windows, Chrome OS, Macintosh, and to a much lesser extent smaller portable devices. The preferred candidate will have experience in on-site and cloud-based fleet management systems related to these devices. Essential skills include patch management, fleet configuration, OS and software updates. The person in this role has core responsibilities in maintaining system compliance and in assuring a quality experience for our community as they use computing devices.

The preferred candidate will have a deep knowledge of Windows, and a proficiency in Macintosh and Chrome OS, but any mix of these will be considered depending on the strength of the candidate. The preferred candidate will also have experience working with MDM systems such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager, JAMF, and Intune.

The candidate should have strong customer service skills, primarily reaching out remotely as the position, managing the fleet at over 50sites from the District’s central office being involved in: direct customer support, leading teams of technicians, and effectively managing collaboration and escalation to peers on the technical staff.

This position is on the Field Engineering Team and works closely with the Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Software teams to maintain strong change management, ensure service resilience, and cross-organization compatibility of systems. The successful candidate must demonstrate a highly collaborative solution-oriented approach and be able to work in a team of highly technical peers while addressing a range of challenges, from individual user issues to systemic problems.

Typical activities involve:

  • Maintain device fleet configuration through management servers
  • Respond to critical vulnerabilities while ensuring high availability
  • Perform upgrades and configuration management on the fleet management servers
  • Package and deploy supported applications
  • Participate in a highly collaborative team that develops strategies for system resilience and optimized user experience.
  • Develop strategies for addressing vulnerability exposures including compensating controls and contingencies
  • Rapidly learn from and train mentors and peers in cross-training situations.

The candidate's track record should indicate a successful professional pace of customer service in an enterprise environment, and an ability to grow and acquire new skills to meet emerging needs.

A track record of rapidly learning and implementing solutions through personal research, peer collaboration, or other resources will set candidates apart as being able to maintain appropriate pace as the District takes on new technologies and adapts to changing business needs. Because the Field Team works with key customer systems, responds to incidents and supports staff in a complex environment with numerous customers, balancing time and load is important for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Team members cross-train to ensure that all team members can take time off.

Candidates should have at least 3-5 years of experience with information systems work in enterprise environments working collaboratively with technical teams. Successful candidates will possess excellent customer service skills, and the desire to learn and grow in technical environments.

Salary Range for this position are below. Please note that the salary offered will range depending on candidate's experience and qualifications.
