Job Description

SNI Technology is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for one of our clients in the Orlando market for a 3 month contract to hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will have at least 7-8 years of experience.

The Electrical/Optical Engineer is a hands-on position involved with the test of opto-electronics products. This includes the conception of test benches, automation of electro-optical test benches, the development of test procedures, the analysis of test results and the conception of electronic circuits. The Electrical/Optical Engineer will participate in the development of new products, used for range finding and in the LiDAR technology. The Electrical/Optical Engineer reports to the Vice President of Engineering.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Test laser diodes
  • Build new opto-electronics test benches to test laser diode parameters
  • Design electronic circuits and create electrical drawings
  • Software coding for test benches automation and test data storage
  • Good test data analysis and interpretation
  • Documentation of test methods and procedures
  • Communicate work results using reports and presentations and design reviews
  • Transfer new opto-electronics test benches to production
  • Perform other technical tasks as required
  • Improve existing product
  • Design of new products
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation as per ISO
  • Calibration and testing of existing and new equipment
  • Analyze customer requirements and specifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, optical engineering or physics with optics experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical and optical engineering
  • Ability to efficiently communicate and understand design ideas and solutions
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Able to work independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and to perform a wide range of technical tasks
  • Good communications skills, self-motivated and work with little guidance
  • Product development and hands-on prototypes building
  • Recording and reporting performance metrics
  • The following are not a firm requirement but are desirable:

o Hands-on laser testing and laser testing system

o Knowledge of semiconductor laser and detector technologies basics

o Knowledge of code languages (Visual Basic, LabView, Microsoft SQL, etc.)
