We are looking for an Upstream/Midstream Project Manager

to join our growing engineering team!

The Upstream/Midstream Project Manager plans, develops and manages the goals, objectives and work plans for assigned Upstream and Midstream projects. This will entail working closely with the following departments: GIS, Survey, Engineering, Environmental, and Regulatory to achieve planned outcomes. In addition to managing the project and interfacing with the various departments, the position also includes: heavy client interaction and consulting.

Essential Duties:
Consult client on the following items:

  • Oil and Gas regulations (State, Federal, local)
  • Our Services - (What's needed to draft engineering exhibits* how can GIS benefit projects* Why does Survey need to locate monuments*)
  • General Oil & Gas operations: Upstream operations, Midstream operations, drill types, pipeline types, etc.
  • Manages the development, timeline, and administration of the project budget.
  • Promotes the various services of Ascent and works with Account Executives to grow market share.
  • Assigns work activities, programs and projects; and monitors work flows with the input of the Project Coordinator and staff with the focus on improving efficiency, timelines, accuracy, and profitability.
  • Oversees writing of job scope, budget, and Quality Assurance Quality Control (QAQC).
  • Responds to and resolves complaints and inquiries from clients by meeting with them on the phone and in person and/or coordinates with departments to resolve the complaints.
  • Monitors daily activities of assigned projects.
  • Understands all contractual obligations and ensures procedures are met on each project.
  • Serves as a technical resource and provides on-the-job work training and guidance to other staff.
  • Supports the collection efforts and ensures that assigned clients pay invoices on time.


  • BA/BS degree in technical field from an accredited College or University. Engineering, geography, geology, survey or environmental science degree is preferred.
  • Four plus years' experience in technical field.
  • Oil and gas industry Midstream or similar pipeline experience.
